Open Question: What age did your parents allow you to start shaving your legs and pits?

I am 16 and my parents STILL wont allow me to start shaving, which isnt fair beacuse I am really hairy and it makes me super self concious to wear shorts or tank tops. The guys in my class all call me sasquatch and its getting old. I wish I was black, since most black women dont shave, they all have those buckshots of hair under their big flabby arms. What is the normal age a girl should start or be allowed to start shaving?
